  • increasing staff

    Increasing Staff Performance

Increasing Staff Performance is a toolkit designed to assist organizations that support individuals with developmental disabilities to better achieve desired outcomes for these individuals through increasing staff performance. To achieve these results, direct support staff must effectively engage the individual and implement the various components of the person's training plans (individual program plan, individual service plan, etc.). Skill acquisition plans, behavior support plans, social skills training, and recreation/leisure activities, no matter how well designed, will not result in desired outcomes if the plans and activities are not implemented effectively and consistently. While this would seem an obvious and self-evident observation, service delivery systems, both private and public, often fail to provide support/reimbursement for strategies and systems to increase and maintain effective staff performance.

Writen by John Casner, M.Ed., in conjunction with H&W, This toolbox is an extension of the products aimed at increasing the quality of supports and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Mr. Casner is a behavior intervention and active treatment/training specialist with over 35 years of experience in a variety of settings.
